Food fraud and substitution investigation.

Technical support: Supporting companies undertaking the manufacturing of new food products. Product and process review to include product specification and risk assessment. QTEC will offer country specific in-depth analyses of the upcoming requirements including potential impacts on labelling, ingredient sourcing, allergens, ready to eat foods, gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, religious requirements, food safety and marketing practices.

Provision for technical forums: Face to face or remote sessions with key company personnel in quality control and quality assurance, enabling full support in the developing product and process control which includes monitoring and detection methodologies.

Research and development support:  will conduct targeted research to assess the implications of changes on product formulations, supply chain practices and consumer preferences. Collaboration with academic institutions and industry experts will be prioritized to ensure that our research outputs are robust and actionable.

Current codes of practice: To provide relevant and current in-country codes of practice for compliance backed up by academic and practical key specialists to support and further develop food safety management systems. As an example, soon to be implemented in the USA, changes will be made to the Control of Listeria in Ready to Eat Foods [RTE] in the USA. Further new guidance will be required on food allergen requirements.

Food allergen labelling Requirements: and the guidance on the Labelling of Plant Based Foods.

Emerging threats: Sourcing and providing information and intelligence regarding emerging risks to the food supply.

Specific food and drink protection: Relevant approaches to food and drink protection. As examples. PAS 96, 2017 A Guide to Protecting and Defending Food and Drink from deliberate attack. ISO 22361 2022 Security and Resilience, Crisis Management. BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety issue 9-2023. Further codes of practice for global locations and product profiles.

Environmental monitoring: Environmental Issues. Sanitation and environmental pathogenic contamination is a major concern in the manufacturer of RTE foods. There are numerous issues ranging from inadequate machinery being poorly disassembled for sanitation, poor maintenance of floors, ceilings and work surfaces, staff failing to address high risk environments; all are critical to food safety.  audits eliminate and reduce the risk against food contamination and product recall.
